Physician / Physiatrist

Your personal physician has assisted with your admission to Coastal Rehabilitation Center and may visit you to monitor your progress.

The medical director of Coastal Rehab is a physiatrist. This is a physician who has taken a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation after completing medical school. The physiatrist/rehab physician is responsible for prescribing tests, diets and treatments while you are in the rehab program and is a member of your rehab team. When you are ready for discharge from Coastal Rehab, the physiatrist/rehab physician will refer you to your personal physician for your ongoing care.
